Mohammad Kaif, suspect in Rajdeo Ranjan murder case, surrenders in Siwan court

Mohammad Kaif aka Bunty wanted sharpshooter in the murder case of Bihar journalist, surrendered in Siwan court on Wednesday. Kaif was seen standing right next to Shahabuddin and cheering him as he spoke to media after being released.

He was last seen outside the Bhagalpur jail gate receiving RJD politician Mohamad Shahabuddin after he was released from jail on Sept 10.

Kaif, who claims himself to be cricket coach, is accused by police of being a conspirator in Ranjan murder case.

On September 15, a local court here had ordered attachment of property of Kaif, a resident of Dakshin Tola locality of Siwan.

He not just greeted Mr Shahabuddin outside the prison, but also rode in the convoy of 300-odd cars that accompanied the former lawmaker to his home in Siwan.

Soon after the police came to know about Kaif’ presence in Shahabuddin’s cavalcade and later his pictures with Shahabuddin went viral, massive search operation was launched to arrest him but to no avail.

Kaif surrendered before the CJM court today afternoon after which he was sent to 14 days judicial custody.

Kaif’s photograph with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s son and state Health minister Tej Pratap Yadav last week had triggered a controversy. However, Tej Pratap dismissed charges of knowing the sharp shooter.
