Mom, not legal system, to blame in sons’ deaths
Brittany Pilkington murdered all three of her sons by placing a blanket over their heads over a period of several months. She calmly told the operator that 3-month-old Noah wasn’t breathing.

When police questioned her, at first, the 23-year-old mother said she believed that genetics were behind the deaths of all three boys.
Brittany Pilkington’s uncle Joe Skaggs said Hailey and Noah had been with Logan County Children’s Services after Gavin’s death and were returned to their parents this month.
This came after the deaths of her 4-year-old son Gavin Pilkington in April and 3-month-old son Niall Pilkington in July 2014.
“Why would you give them back after a little boy just died and when you?re in the middle of an investigation?”
Prosecutors said the mom had a plan to kill her sons no matter when it happened.
At the prosecutor’s office, attorneys worked with Logan County Children’s Services to remove Noah and his three-year-old sister, Hailey, from the home.
Pilkington called 911 as her husband tried in vain to revive him at their home in Bellefontaine.
Pilkington, who confessed to killing her boys after questioning, told investigators she had murdered them because their father, Joseph Pilkington, was not paying enough attention to their daughter, the Columbus Dispatch newspaper reported.
But what no one did, or could, testify to was that the children’s mother, Brittany Pilkington, had already killed her two other sons.
“I’m still trying to grasp the idea of why she did this”, Lori Cummins said.
Asked whether the system intended to protect children had failed them in this case, Goslee said the death was unpredictable. And a neighbor marveled at how calm she seemed, even as her husband, Joseph, fell apart. The cause of death was undetermined due to lack of evidence at the scene, police said.
A new survey has found fewer than half of U.S. Roman Catholics said they knew of Pope Francis’ bombshell encyclical on curbing climate change – and only a fraction of those heard about it from the pulpit – in the month…
Same as with Niall, though, the coroner could find no specific cause of death and police still found no evidence of a crime.
He said he thinks she deserves what may be coming. Breaston also took note of the fact that the boys’ father, Joseph Pilkington, 43, was extremely distraught by the death of Gavin in April, but Brittany Pilkington appeared to remain unemotional.
