Mom says so – Ben Carson really did try to stab a kid

The subsequent day, Politico published a narrative claiming in that the Carson marketing crusade admitted in that he “fabricated” an account of applying & being admitted to West Point – a headline the outlet after softened.

Carson told ABC’s This Week television news show on Sunday that the West Point website uses the word “scholarship”, so that he was not wrong to use this word in the past when describing overtures from military officials who told him when he was young that they could get him a “full scholarship” to the academy. As most of us know, anger and even violence can happen in a second and it seems that they didn’t bother to find the right people, just anyone who might have known him.

Shortly after Carson released his statement Friday, Politico backtracked and pulled the main sentence on the story by reporter Kyle Cheney, adding that it had “updated” the story, but did not provide any further context.

Following the POLITICO story came an extensive report from CNN that nine people who grew up with Dr. Carson in Detroit told the network that his recounting of his troubled youth and angry temperament don’t match up with their remembrances.

During the fourth Republican presidential debate, Ben Carson responded to criticisms about his personal life story and criticized the media. “People who know me know that I’m an honest person”. Carson has clarified that it was an informal offer and that he never applied to West Point. And while the media quickly shifted its focus to more pressing matters, like wall-to-wall coverage of a handful of Christians finding fault with Starbucks’s holiday coffee cups, Republicans opened their pocketbooks and rewarded Dr. Carson for being the victim of a freakish smear.

Dr. Carson is an extraordinary man. His wealth of experience does not necessarily qualify him to be President. “They have not yet come after your kids and the rest of your family – they will”.

Why is it that the liberal agenda can painstakingly search for a fragment of indiscretion on any and all Republican candidates but I never see, hear or read any attention to the possible wrongdoings of any of the Democratic candidates? And, simply because Carson says it doesn’t make it any more true. If you want to run for the big job, you have to be ready for all that comes with it. This ain’t bean bag, after all. The retired neurosurgeon’s writings, including an autobiography named “Gifted Hands”, are coming under the kind of scrutiny any presidential candidate should expect.

Huckabee said Monday that he lacks the violent past that Carson has chronicled.

None of the above means that Carson is a fabulist or that he shouldn’t be president.

Students granted admission to West Point are not awarded scholarships. POLITICO’s reporting established that Carson said he received a “full scholarship” from West Point, in writing and in public appearances over the years – but in fact he did not and there is actually no such thing as a “full scholarship” to the taxpayer-funded academy.
