It was horrifying moment when the passerby’s noticed a dog fighting for life on California’s San Fernando Valley.

They immediately called the emergency services who saved the dog by landing into the river by helicopter.
It’s believed that the dog was fighting for life more than a mile down the river from strong currents.
Firefighters took quick action by lowering one fireman into the river from helicopter.
Later a spokesman explained “It has a collar and a leash but there’s no identification so we gave it over to park rangers, they’re going to take it to the shelter and see if they can identify it with a microchip”.
