The weather service said the tornado in the suburb of Garland has been rated an EF-4. There were reports of 11 tornadoes in the area during Saturday’s storms, but the NWS cautioned that those are just reports and have not been confirmed.

Snow accumulations of 5 to 13 inches – with drifts to 10 feet – were likely in some areas of north Texas, southeast New Mexico and the Oklahoma panhandle.
The storms across the South have been unusually powerful for winter.

In central Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City, a mixture of rain, sleet and freezing rain tapered off Sunday afternoon.
