MONDAY’S WEATHER FORECAST: Areas of smoke, high of 77

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high of about 84, nighttime low of about 63.

There is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for Wednesday, with a high near 87. Winds could gust as high as 32 MPH. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Highs reach the low 80s.

We’ll have to watch to the north for scattered showers and thunderstorms possibly moving into the area from the north on Monday.

Partly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 81.

Urban areas and foothill ridges will be slow to cool off Tuesday night, with low temperatures remaining in the 60s. Highs will be a more comfortable upper-70s.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue to be likely tonight, with another inch of rain possible.

Thursday’s forecast calls for a chance of showers, with thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.

This weekend will be okay, with partly cloudy skies and the chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms.

More favorable rain conditions will develop during the Wednesday through Friday period, as more moisture moves into the area, and lowering pressures allow for that moist air to rise. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Expect a minimum of a 30% rain chance any given day this week. Mostly sunny, with a high near 79. Over the next few days, the storm will generally move to the west-northwest, likely becoming our first hurricane of the season by Friday.
