Monday, Tuesday storm update

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Baldwin and the region until 6 tonight.

There are a slight chance of showers on Friday into Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

MA officials are asking people to stay off the roads between the morning and evening commutes to allow snow-clearing equipment to do their jobs.

Snow, heavy at times, will fall throughout the day Monday with 10 to 16 inches of accumulation possible.

The counties under an advisory are as follows: Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry and Somerset.

A coastal storm is bringing some wintery precipitation to eastern North Carolina and should mean high winds and high surf along the coast. The weather service said light snow may linger into Wednesday. Steady light snow will wind down during the morning Tuesday and snow showers will linger through the day.

Temps will cool down on Wednesday, with mostly sunny skies.

At SlopeStyle Ski & Ride shop in Montpelier, Rebecca Baldwin says it’s too bad the snow is hitting southern New England “because they don’t know how to deal with it” while Vermonters who are equipped “don’t get anything”. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 22.

Tuesday will be sunny with a high near 74 and will mark a cooling trend for the rest of the week. Northeast winds were expected to be between 10 and 20 miles per hour, gusting to 30 miles per hour.
