Money Race Accelerates For Hillary Clinton And Donald Trump

Clinton has kept her edge following last month’s Republican and Democratic conventions, and has led Trump in the survey throughout most of the 2016 campaign. The campaign now has a little more than $38 million in cash on hand.

Clinton and outside groups supporting her have dominated the airwaves since the general-election campaign kicked off in early June, spending a combined $104 million to promote the former secretary of State and to blister Trump, data compiled by NBC News shows.

In all, his campaign brought in 37 million dollars (£28.3 million) for the month. It raised $12 million in June.

Clinton’s financial advantage extends to super PACs – organizations that can raise unlimited funds from corporations, unions, associations and individuals and spend unlimited money to openly push for or against political candidates, but which are prohibited from coordinating with campaigns.

“Over the next 80 days, we are going to work very, very hard”, Trump told backers at a convention center here, adding that the November 8 election will bring “a new day in America”.

Sanders said that during some of those visits he will also campaign on behalf of Democratic Senate candidates, including Katie McGinty in Pennsylvania, Ted Strickland in OH and Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire.

She can afford her higher level of spending, the July campaign finance reports show.

The Republican National Committee also announced Saturday it had raised $199.5 million this election cycle, including $27.2 million in July.

A pro-Trump group called Great America PAC landed its biggest contribution yet in July, $100,000 from billionaire Charles Johnson, a backer of vanquished GOP Trump opponent Jeb Bush and owner of the San Francisco Giants. Meanwhile, a USA federal judge has ordered Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton to answer written questions from a watchdog group about her use of a private email server when she served as Secretary of State.

Donald Trump called on the Republican Party to boost its traditionally lagging outreach efforts with black voters Saturday, as he looks to win over minorities in the increasingly contentious race for the White House. From August until election day, the super PAC had roughly $87 million in TV airtime reserved, along with $5 million for radio and tens of millions in digital ads.

That team includes Stephen Bannon, a combative conservative media executive with no presidential campaign experience, and pollster Kellyanne Conway, who has known Trump for years.

The PAC is separate from the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign committee and can not coordinate with it. The DNC pulled in $32 million, compared to the Republican National Committee’s $24 million’s July haul.

Local supporters have hit Trump on issues such as his refusal to release his tax returns.
