Monmouth U Poll: Clinton Takes Double Digit Lead Over Trump
Trump spoke Monday at an event hosted by the Detroit Economic Club, delivering remarks his campaign had promised would delve into his plans to stimulate economic growth and job creation should he emerge victorious from November’s presidential election against Democratic rival Hillary Clinton. But in his proposal to make childcare tax exempt, and to scale back trade bills that US workers widely see as ruinous, Trump is sounding themes that have so far separated from the pack in the GOP primary campaign, and are the most hard for Clinton to counter.

While Trump’s speech was billed as his economic vision for the country, he spent a large amount of his almost hour-long address to 1,500 people at the Detroit Economic Club lashing out against Clinton, his Democratic opponent.
The speech was interrupted more than a dozen times by protesters, who were escorted out by security. What Trump calls the “death tax”, and what is more widely known as the “estate tax”, is worth an estimated $25 billion a year.
When it comes down to it, most of us really are just a bunch of bathroom humor-loving, overgrown children – but there’s not necessarily anything wrong with that.
Those attending the speech say they were glad to hear Trump’s plan, but still have questions.
Demonstrators for and against a Donald Trump presidency intermingled Monday in a freakish scene outside the Cobo Center, standing side-by-side with opposing signs and chants. More details, he said, would be provided “in the coming weeks”.
Trump will also propose stronger protections for American intellectual property and a temporary moratorium on new regulations, the Trump aide said. His proposed cuts to the income tax-establishing three brackets instead of the current seven, at 12 percent, 25 percent and 33 percent-would slash taxes for Americans across the board, but wealthy individuals would reap the biggest windfall in terms of savings.
Meanwhile, if childcare expenses are fully deductible with no cap at all, the more a family spends on child care the more it benefits.
Numerous same leaders wrote an open letter in March during the Republican primaries condemning Trump and pledging to oppose his candidacy, at a time when other GOP candidates remained in the race.
Trump’s speech also called for the repeal of Obamacare and a complete reform of the “Veterans Administration”, presumably a reference to the Department of Veterans Affairs. As the real estate tycoon explained it Monday, “Our lower business tax will also end job-killing corporate inversions, and cause trillions in new dollars and wealth to come pouring into our country-and into cities like Detroit”.
“It is because of Mr. Trump’s inability and unwillingness to honor that legacy that I am unable to support his candidacy”, she wrote”.
Trump’s campaign billed the speech as a major economic policy address, and both his and Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s campaigns rolled out a response in Iowa, a battleground state.
Trump has been immersed in controversy over his repeated criticism of a Muslim-American family whose son, an Army captain, was killed in Iraq, and his refusal for days to endorse House Speaker Paul Ryan in Tuesday’s Wisconsin primary. He announced his backing of Ryan on Friday.
We also did some fact-checking on Trump’s claim that MI lost 50,000 jobs in the coal industry.
Leone said Trump can’t be trusted to following through on his trade promises. “Americanism, not globalism, will be our new credo”, he said.
The Clinton campaign ripped into the proposed Trump plan earlier Monday morning, saying his tax breaks are only for the wealthy and includes no paid family leave or increase in the federal minimum wage.
Before addressing the crowd of more than 1,500 people, Trump got a surprise introduction from running mate Mike Pence.
“He’s a dreamer. He’s a builder”.
