Making it evident that there will be no resignations, BJP discussed how to counter the opposition attack and harmonising the response of the government and the party to these issues, sources said.

New Delhi, July 21 Activists of the All India Mahila Congress on Tuesday held a demonstration here to demand the resignations of union minister Sushma Swaraj and BJP chief ministers Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan for alleged impropriety and corruption.

Reports said one of the meetings was held at the Prime Ministers residence where senior leaders and ministers including Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and others were present.

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, “Then PM Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji used to feel that there should be some action taken, some resignations made, but today’s government is totally thick-skinned. We will seek their answers on these”, he said. The Monsoon session is expected to last till August 13. “NDA doesn’t care about what people think, want”. Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan who is battling charges of involvement of his ministers in the Vyapam scam is also scheduled to meet Shah later in the day. The Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) scam relates to irregularities in admission in state-run medical colleges and recruitment in government jobs. While Swaraj claimed to have no objection to Lalit Modi’s request to travel out of UK, Raje allegedly helped him to get UK stay permit.
