Montini: Trump’s (new?) Reverse-Roosevelt strategy: ‘Fear is good’
Mr. Bannon, once recognized by Bloomberg Politics as the “most risky political operative in America”, will oversee the campaign staff and operations in addition to strategic oversight of major campaign initiatives in addition to working with Mr. Manafort.

The step into swing-state advertising, which came amid Trump’s second staffing shake-up in as many months, did little to alleviate the concerns of Republican officials frustrated with Trump’s refusal to adopt the tools of modern-day political campaigns.
“There is no new Donald Trump”, Clinton said.
Day one of the Breitbart era within the Donald Trump campaign got off to a surprisingly fluffy start Thursday.
“I am committed to doing whatever it takes to win this election and ultimately become president”, the NY billionaire announced.
And Conway emphasized the importance of the upcoming debates as an opportunity to move the polling needle, saying that the Hillary Clinton stand-in for this weekend’s prep would likely please Trump, though she wouldn’t reveal the person’s identity.
Bannon used the fortune he accrued in banking and entertainment to found the Government Accountability Institute, a nonprofit whose mission is to “expose crony capitalism, misuse of taxpayer monies, and other government corruption or malfeasance”.
Bannon, for instance, helped orchestrate the publication of “Clinton Cash“, the explosive book by GAI President Peter Schweizer, which detailed alleged conflicts of interest and pay-for-play politics between the Clintons and the donors to their foundation. In that exchange, he was discussing the political “movement” fueling his campaign and the reporter noted that “the world is changing” and mentioned Brexit, the June vote for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.
Bardella called Bannon “pathological liar who has a temperament that governs by bullying and intimidation and functions very much like a dictator at Breitbart”. “Bannon is to tell Trump what Trump wants to hear. Or it may not”, Shapiro wrote.
Several ex-Breitbart representatives and editors warned that Bannon, who was officially brought on as the Trump campaign’s CEO on Wednesday, was a combative, volatile figure who would intensify the Republican nominee’s fraught relationship with the press.
That’s not all Noah said about Trump. Despite Cruz’s own reluctance to endorse Trump, Keep the Promise 1 rebranded as Defeat Crooked Hillary PAC in June. “That’s how he became the nominee in large part”. As many as 45 per cent voters say Clinton would be a poor or bad president. Fringier outlets have suggested Clinton faked her medical records (she did not) or that she wears a defibrillator (she does not) or that her body guard is secretly a doctor who carries anti-seizure medicine (also not true).
Clinton, like other presidential candidates, has released a letter from her longtime doctor explaining her medical history and calling her “healthy”. “They are extremely capable, highly qualified people who love to win and know how to win”, said Mr. Trump.
Conway’s own husband, George, is an old enemy of the Clinton’s as well, having assisted Paula Jones’ legal team in their suit against Bill Clinton.
Conway told Fox News she was advising Trump to take “his case directly to the people”.
The Republican National Committee has already conceded it may divert resources away from the presidential contest in favor of vulnerable Senate and House candidates if Trump’s standing does not improve in the coming weeks.

According to Republicans close to Trump, the campaign shake-up is aimed more at allowing him to fully embrace the aggressive style that helped him with the primary rather than taking a more restrained, traditional approach.
