The statement said he died at a palliative care centre in Terrebonne, Quebec, outside Montreal.

“He was the eighth child of Therese and Adhémar Dion, brother of Celine”.
The announcement of Daniel’s passing comes during an extraordinarily hard time for Celine, who also lost her husband Rene to the disease last week.
Daniel will be honored at a religious funeral at St-Simon-et-Jude, in Charlemagne Québec, where the family was raised. According to the “Power of Love” songstress’ sister Claudette, their 59-year-old brother Daniel has been hospitalized with cancer of the throat, tongue and brain.
Daniel died in the early hours of Saturday morning in the family’s native Montreal, reports aceshowbiz.com.
He leaves behind two adult daughters, two grandchildren and an extended family of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Angelil’s life will also be held on February 3 in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace Colosseum. The funeral for Angelil is scheduled for Friday at Montreal’s Notre Dame Basilica, the same church the two were married in 1994.
Angélil’s illness, first diagnosed in 1999, prompted Dion to put her career on hold in 2014, suspending her Las Vegas residency.
Upon hearing about the devastating losses that Celine Dion has faced over the past few days, Ariana Grande expressed her condolences to the singer on Twitter. She stepped back into the spotlight in August, after a year away from performing to care for her ailing husband.
The couple have three children: Rene-Charles born in 2001 and twins Nelson and Eddy born in 2010.
