Montreal Impact hope to keep Didier Drogba for 2016 season
MLS outfit Montreal Impact are desperate to hold onto their star striker Didier Drogba after confirming they are in talks with his former club Chelsea over a Premier League return.

Drogba shone in Major League Soccer with the Impact last season, where he scored 11 goals in 11 games for the Quebec-based side, endearing himself to the Canadian faithful.
Chelsea have plenty of time to come to an agreement with Montreal Impact as the MLS season is over and doesn’t resume until March 6.
But the next day, the 37-year-old Drogba attended Chelsea’s 3-1 victory over lowly Sunderland, sitting with Hiddink and Abramovich.
Montreal’s tweets read, in chronological order: ‘We are now in contact with Didier Drogba and Chelsea FC.
“We want to get important players involved with the club they care about”.
‘But our objective is to have him back for another season, as agreed in his contract.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are going through one of their worst seasons in recent memory, and they need a morale boost after firing Jose Mourinho midseason. This situation is out of our control. Hiddink later said he hoped to get Drogba involved in some way with the team.
“He’s a legend already in this club”.
“The official process I don’t know but I spoke openly from the bottom of my heart that huge impact players can be key for the club”.

“The only thing is he is playing in Montreal, but I think all the big clubs have these specific guys or figures, who can be ambassadors, coaches, managers – but they must be given the opportunity”. Chelsea sits 15th in EPL standings with five wins, three draws and nine defeats, 20 points behind surprise leader Leicester.
