TORONTO – Kevin Pillar singled home the go-ahead run, Darwin Barney added a two-run single in the three-run seventh inning and Toronto defeated NY.

After the Orioles right-hander gave up five runs in the first two innings, Baltimore couldn’t dig out of the hole in a 6-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

-Betts is also the first Red Sox lead off hitter to hit three home runs in a game in history.

The Red Sox look to continue their surge behind Joe Kelly (2-0, 6.30), who seeks his 11th consecutive win.

Red Sox: Eduardo Rodriguez (right knee) comes off the disabled list to make his season debut, starting on the mound Tuesday night against the organization that drafted him.

“He can be a little bit shaky defensively but I wouldn’t give up on him just yet there”.

CARDINALS 10, BREWERS 3 (at Milwaukee) – Matt Carpenter had four hits for the second straight game to lead St. Louis. “There’s a lot of unknown here”, manager Buck Showalter said.

Wright suffered his shortest start of the season, lasting just 2 2/3 innings while allowing six runs on seven hits.

Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia are a combined 5 for 10 with three homers in this matchup. After spotting the Mets a four-run lead, the White Sox battled back and won 6-4 after Tyler Saladino hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning off Hansel Robles. Though he’d put his team in an ultimately insurmountable 5-0 hole, Gausman at least ate up some innings to protect the bullpen, throwing 113 pitches in all. Bogaerts grounded out to first, however Betts was able to score from second because nobody covered home plate.

Boston beat the Orioles in Baltimore Monday, 7-2.

It’s the second-longest in the majors this season behind teammate Jackie Bradley Jr., whose 29-game streak ended last week.

New York’s CC Sabathia allowed five hits, one walk and two runs in six-plus innings.

The Orioles didn’t homer Wednesday, but all nine starters reached base and the team drew a season-high nine walks. He made perhaps one bad pitch in the game, however given that he was facing a knuckleballer who shut down Oriole bats, he just didn’t have much room for error.

MARINERS 16, PADRES 4: Seth Smith hit two of Seattle’s five home runs and finished with four RBIs, Adam Lind and Kyle Seager both hit three-run homers and the Mariners pummeled San Diego.

Following an outstanding spring training, Rickard was named the Opening Day left fielder for the Orioles and got off to a red-hot start. They’ve done that and then some, vaulting Boston to a 32-20 record and a three-game cushion in the AL East. If they keep hitting like this, it’s hard not to wonder if the road to the World Series in the American League is going to run through Fenway Park.
