Mookie Betts Named AL Player Of The Month For July
Mookie Betts has been named the American League Player of the Month following his outstanding performance in July. He’s the second Boston Red Sox player to earn AL Player of the Month honors this season, as fellow outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr.

Betts didn’t have a hitting streak of quite that magnitude, but he still had a scorching month at the plate. He was third in hits (35) and tied for third in steals (5) in his 23 games during July.
Betts hit.368 in July, with five home runs and 15 RBIs, while stealing five bases and hitting 10 doubles.
As great as Betts was at the plate, he may have been even better in the field. He also ranked first in the Major League Baseball in total bases during the month.

Betts, a fifth-round draft pick in 2011, had 22 home runs and 70 RBI going into Wednesday night’s game against Seattle.
