More big deals for Boeing at Farnborough
Most recently, the company received a commitment of 30 single-aisle 737 commercial aircraft from an undisclosed Chinese customer.

Boeing expects cargo traffic to rise 4.2% per year, driven by expected orders for 930 new freighters and 1,440 converted freighters.
For its part, Boeing announced that China’s Donghai Airlines meant to buy 30 jets – comprising 25 medium-haul 737 Max 8s and five long-haul 787-9 Dreamliners – together worth more than US$4.0 billion.
Mr Cameron joined Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson to view the flypast on the opening day of the Farnborough air show.
Boeing announced a memorandum of understanding with XiamenAirlines for the purchase of 30 Boeing 737 MAX 200 aircraft, Jamie Jewell, a spokeswoman for CFM International, said in an email Monday.
The improved 737 MAX 7 will open new opportunities for airlines and provide exceptional performance out of high elevation airports.
Airbus, which traditionally fights USA rival Boeing for blockbuster order announcements at Farnborough, southwest of London, revealed a US$4.4-billion firm order from Virgin Atlantic for 12 wide-bodied Airbus A350-1000 jets.
Kunming Airlines now serves more than 40 cities across China by operating a fleet of eight 737-700s and 11 737-800s.
GoAir, among eight budget airlines operating in India, is one of only three carriers worldwide that have begun using the Neo upgrade of the A320, so that a follow-on order would provide a vote of confidence in a model dogged by issues with its Pratt & Whitney turbines since previous year.
“ALC already has lease agreements in place with seven different airlines for 737-8 MAX aircraft out of our Boeing delivery stream, starting in the fourth quarter of 2017”, said Steven F. Udvar-Hazy, executive chairman of Air Lease. It also said it has the largest backlog of any Boeing customer, with 180 planes.
The order, finalised at the air show in Hampshire, includes an option for one additional 787-9. TUI Group now has three unfilled orders for 787-9s and 70 orders for the 737-MAX.
Tui is aiming to operate Europe’s most carbon efficient airlines by 2020.
