More Candidates to Replace Les Miles at LSU
It was, at least in this columnist’s opinion, Ole Miss’ most solid overall team outing of the season. It’s only a question of when and how.

Smith wrote that, “LSU’s ugly 38-17 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday night in Oxford, Miss., only fueled the momentum behind the scenes”.
Letting him hang another week with everybody knowing what’s about to happen would be hard to watch and, most importantly, tough on the players. But with the floor crumbling beneath him and being handed his third loss in a row, Miles should be on his way out as head coach.
Since there are going to be a couple of openings in the National Football League, Miles will be discussed as a potential head coach on the professional level. He has experience in such situations. And whoever is the next coach needs to keep Orgeron.
I would have preferred Baton Rouge WBRZ sportscaster Michael Cauble’s scenario. So, while I recognize all the multiple valid reasons why Les Miles should no longer remain the LSU head coach, in my opinion the price just remains too damn high.
That would’ve been cool. So, the Les Miles hot seat talk is real. At Miles’ age (62) I would not imagine he seeks out another coaching job, or that he would get one. “Now, I’m going to MI”. Alleva’s refusal to comment to Scott Rabalais of The Advocate suggests that a few wheels are already in motion, as does Miles’ cryptic comment about a meeting with the team on Monday regarding his status.
“I think we have a mobile quarterback”. And the flag flew.
The Tigers had 9 penalties for 58 yards in the first two quarters.
If Alabama beats Auburn or Ole Miss loses to Mississippi State, Alabama wins the West and advances to the December 6 SEC championship game against East champion Florida.
The Rebels know the formula for making next Saturday a flawless finale to a season of huge highs and deep lows.
Christian Russell benefited from a Mike Hilton breakup and picked off a Harris pass four minutes later and returned it 37 yards to the LSU 11-yard line, setting up a Kelly to Treadwell 11-yard TD pass at the 3:24 mark, pushing the score to 24-0. The Rebels jumped out to a 24-0 lead over the Tigers, but it looked like the Tigers might try and make a game of it at the end of the first half and the start of the second after they scored 17 unanswered points. The defense folded again, and it was over again. It was Domingue’s first miss of the season after starting 10 for 10.
Here is a look at LSU’s most likely postseason destinations heading into the final week of the regular season.
The Arkansas Razorbacks and Vols rose while the LSU Tigers and Mississippi State Bulldogs fell in the All for Tennessee Official Week 12 SEC Power Rankings. UGA’s last SEC title was a decade ago; LSU’s was just four years ago. The Tigers finished 8-5 and 4-4. Those are the numbers that are getting Miles fired – rightly or wrongly.

“I just opened my ears more and actually listened to what they were talking about and just applied it more to my game and stuff like that”, he said.
