Cumbria Constabulary say a 29-year-old man from Manchester is in a critical condition and a 34-year-old man from Manchester is in a serious but stable condition. Two have been released and two others remain in a serious but stable condition.
“There is still a risk that substances are being circulated on site and it is important that those attending the festival are aware of the potential dangers and significant risks in taking drugs and unknown substances, you cannot be sure of what they contain and this can seriously affect your health”. Police believe they took green tablets with an Adidas logo on them.
Other seized drugs include green and grey pills with white flecks.
“If you are taking drugs, this is my advice: take as little as possible, don’t repeat, don’t take any more substances until the effects have worn off, don’t mix substances and don’t drink alcohol”, she said.
Get to know your campsite security team, store their number and call them if you see any suspicious / antisocial behaviour!
The festival ends later.
The festival have issued a warning following the incident, tweeting: “There have been serious drug related casualties requiring hospital treatment”.
A spokesperson from Kendal Calling said: “We are deeply saddened that a male who attended Kendal Calling passed away at Carlisle Hospital this morning”.
Snoop Dogg, Elbow and the Kaiser Chiefs are among the acts headlining the large music festival that takes place in the Lake District between July 30 and August 2. Stay with friends and make sure you are with at least one sober person.
In the General FAQ section it states: “The festival operates a zero-tolerance policy to drugs”.
