Diesel prices are holding steady, according to the report, with the national average at $1.98 a gallon and Oregon’s average just a cent above that.
A global glut of oil production has seen crude oil prices nosedive, which will keep downward pressure on gas prices until that market stabilizes.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average price for a gallon of gas in Dayton is $1.88, and it is trending up. “We knew it was inevitable”.

In South Carolina, the lowest average gas prices are in the Greenville-Spartanburg area at about $1.50 a gallon, according to AAA.
While oil prices are still near historic lows, trading under $34 a barrel, refineries are beginning their annual facilities maintenance to switch to more environmentally friendly summer blends. “However, prices are unlikely to surge as supplies remain abundant”. GasBuddy Senior Petroleum Analyst Gregg Laskoski said prices in the Midwest are rising as refineries reduce output.
In Vancouver, a gallon of gas cost an average of $2.79 a year ago, compared with $1.97 this week.
Prices are up by a dime or more per gallon in Minnesota (+16 cents), Oklahoma (+13 cents), Iowa (+11 cents), OH (+11 cents) and IL (+10 cents), AAA said in a release.
