Authorities in Thailand are now hunting “at least ten” suspects who they believe were responsible for the Bangkok bombing, which killed 22 people including a British student.

The sketch showed a fair, young man with thick hair and wearing black glasses who could be of “mixed origin”, Thai police spokesman Prawut Thawornsiri said in a televised interview.

Thai security forces are sharing information with Interpol, the global police organization, and with intelligence agencies from allied countries, officials said.

The attack had occurred on Monday evening as worshippers and tourists crowded at the Erawan shrine in the Thai capital’s commercial heart, shredding bodies and incinerating motorcycles.

Police also noted that the suspect had material wrapped around both of his forearms, which they say could indicate he had previously sustained some kind of injury.

The shrine, a blood-spattered scene of charred motorbikes and debris after the blast, was reopened today.

Neoh Ee Ling, who is five months pregnant, was not injured in the attack but her four-year-old daughter has been confirmed as one of the four family members dead and a fifth is also thought to have died.

Authorities on Tuesday released images of a man they believe is the bomber wearing a yellow T-shirt recorded on surveillance video leaving a backpack under a bench just before Monday’s explosion.

“I don’t suspect one person, I suspect many people”, police chief Somyot Pumpanmuang was quoted as saying by the Reuters news agency.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, which Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has said is “the worst incident that has ever happened in Thailand“.

Two men who were seen on CCTV minutes before the Bangkok bomb blast have handed themselves in and been cleared by Thai police.

Prawut had earlier tweeted that police were offering a one million baht (€25,000) reward “to whoever can give information that leads to the arrest of the suspect”.

Police later said two other people seen on CCTV were being treated as suspects. Two other victims remained unidentified Wednesday, according to the Bangkok Emergency Medical Services. “It is only apparent that the bomber or group is the enemy of the people and the more united the people, the better the chances are for justice”. Less than 24 hours after the rush-hour blast, tour operators were already reporting cancellations.
