Morgan Freeman’s granddaughter E’Dena Hines stabbed to death

Morgan Freeman’s step-granddaughter, Edena Hines, died on Sunday at the age of 33 and her boyfriend has since been charged with the murder.

On Monday, police said that Lamar Davenport who is 30 remained at the hospital and has been charged with murder in the second degree.

“One eyewitness, George Hudacko, told CBS News that he heard the couple arguing from his window at approximately 2 a.m. Likening the killing to an “exorcism”, Hudacko recalled hearing “‘Devil, be gone, Jesus and God, ‘” as Davenport delivered the blows.

Hines was studying acting at New York University, according to her official website.

“I looked out and I saw this girl in the middle of the street and a guy over her. It looked like he was moving around her abdomen”, he said.

Hines also spoke out saying that “these stories about me and my grandfather are not only untrue, they are also very hurtful to me and my family”.

In a heartbreaking statement released by the 78-year-old Oscar victor he remembered E’Dena as a passionate and loving soul: “The world will never know her artistry in talent, and how much she had to offer”.

“Her friends and family were fortunate enough to have known what she meant as a person”, he said. He concluded that her star would shine bright in our thoughts, prayers and heart. “May she rest in peace”. Her body was discovered in front of her apartment building on West 162nd Street and pronounced dead at Harlem Hospital, officers said.

Authorities have said the actress was stabbed 16 times. He was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center reportedly for a psychiatric evaluation. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart”.

In 2012 the actor, 78, was forced to denied reports had been dating Hines for 10 years and were planning to get married.
