We are grateful that our son, Elder Mason Wells, survived the attack and is receiving quality medical care.

The explosions shook Wells’ body, his mother said.

The 19-year-old’s third brush with danger came during Tuesday’s ISIS attack at an airport and subway in Brussels, Belgium.

The 19-year-old American teen Mason Wells has become the talk of social media after news that he not only survived the bomb blasts in Brussels but also was in Paris and Boston when attacks rocked Paris and Boston. It’s a pattern that’s become all too familiar for Wells, who is still recovering from the most recent attacks.

Speaking from his hospital bed, his face swathed in bandages, he said he had started to run toward an exit when the second bomb detonated.

Chad said a Mormon official relayed to the Wells family that Mason, “despite being on the ground and bleeding actually had a sense of humor and remained calm through the situation”. “He saw people dead and people dying, so I’m sure that will stay with him for the rest of his life”. The bombs that tore through the Brussels airport Tuesday seriously wounded three Mormon mission… They were at the airport with Fanny Rachel Clain, of Montelimar, France, who was on her way to an assignment in Cleveland.

The teenager is in good spirits, his father said, but his family do not yet know when they will see him or if he will complete his mission.

Among other victims was a US Air Force service member from Joint Force Command Brunssum, the Netherlands, who was injured at the airport with members of his family.

The fact that Mason is alive, is an absolute miracle. She had hoped to settle permanently in the United States.

Living through one terrorist attack is terrifying enough.

“He shared with us that he was extremely close to the blast where he was burned by it”.

On Tuesday, he was with other missionaries who were also injured.

Speaking to CNN from her hospital bed on Thursday, her face and hands bandaged after she emerged from surgery, she said she believed the attackers had been brainwashed. “I think it will make him a stronger person – maybe the Boston experience was there to help him get through this experience”.
