Rosaviatsiya on Friday formally notified Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, where Egypt Air flights arrive, that the ban is effective starting Saturday, said the airport spokesman Alexander Vlasov.
Approximately three million Russian tourists vacationed in Egypt in 2014 and the flight restrictions have hit Egypt’s tourism industry with the country potentially losing around $280 million a month.
Israel’s defense minister says there is a “high probability” that the Russian airliner that crashed in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula more than a week ago, killing all 224 people onboard, was brought down by a bomb.
Sharif told the media that the Russians have demanded a Russian language translation of Egypt Air’s operations manual and that the ban would stay in place pending a review of the procedures.
While no official investigation has confirmed the militants’ claim of responsibility, several countries have cancelled flights to Sham El-Sheikh and announced new precautions.
On Friday, Russia’s national flag carrier, Aeroflot, said it will not fly to Egypt until March 27, 2016. Julian Bray, an aviation security analyst, told BBC last week that it was “highly probable” for even an inexperienced terrorist group to put a bomb on the plane leaving Sharm el-Sheik resort.
On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi visited Sharm el-Sheikh, saying “Egypt is safe”, and urging the worldwide community to inspect the airport.

Shukri added in statements made to CNN that “international investigation regulations allow Americans to tap advisers for their team”, in response to a question on whether the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) would be part of the United States team.
