Mosques in Canada and the U.S. have experienced an increase in vandalism and threats since the Paris attacks, say campaigners.
They associate their tragedies to our religion, the religion that we pompously affiliate to peace. In this climate, there have been signs of a worrying backlash against Italy’s Muslims. Indonesia, which has the world’s highest concentration of Muslims, a few 204 million in all, saw almost 80% announcing their disdain for the ISIS. Il Fatto Quotidiano reported that one 22-year-old Muslim, named only as Melania, had been accused of supporting Isis by a woman who ripped the veil from her head. The CFCM sermon said French Muslims “proclaim our full support for the values of the Republic” and pryed to God “to preserve and bless France”.
Muslim condemnation of the terrorist attacks was not limited to France.

Every time the Islamic State commits yet another attack or atrocity, Muslims, particularly Western Muslims, shudder.
Whether it is a Muslim teen in America who seeks to find an outlet for his energy in the grips of the wretched hands of ISIS, a citizen of France who falls under the trap of a fake Islam that will reward him for his awful deeds, or a young Syrian man who may have no knowledge of his faith but will find a future and objective within the political and territorial goals of ISIS, these all showcase the influence of the leaders of ISIS.

By the time you read this column, you will probably have heard countless people trying to figure out the best way to defeat the Islamic State, variously known as ISIS, ISIL or Daesh. Instead of understanding their grief, we are telling them that we are going to violently protest if we are associated with terrorism.
