Bond’s lawyer, Janice Bassil, asked the judge to set a low cash bail of $250 and allow her to be under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

As part of their investigations, state police detectives met with a “lifelong fried” of McCarthy, who explained that he had moved in with the couple for about a week, several months prior to the alleged murder took place.

September 21, 2015: Rachelle Bond and boyfriend Michael McCarthy are due in court for arraignment.

Deakin said Bond reported that Bella’s head was swollen and she was gray and that she knew her daughter was dead when she picked her up.

The mystery of the girl with big brown eyes and a cherubic face – as rendered by forensic artist Christi Andrews and distributed by authorities – captivated the nation for months. Authorities released her name on Friday. Prosecutors said the friend thought the child was in the care of the Department of Children and Families, until Bond allegedly admitted to him what happened.

McCarthy’s attorney declined to comment. The girl was estimated to be around four-years-old.

“Now we will give her justice”.

August 5, 2015: Toxicology tests on “Baby Doe” show no signs of chemicals or other toxins in her body that would have led to her death. Bond also told police that McCarthy eventually put Bella’s body in a duffel bag and tried to dispose of it in the Boston Harbor, Deakin said.

McCarthy’s lawyer, Jonathan Shapiro, told Boston NPR station WBUR that McCarthy will plead not guilty.

McCarthy is Bond’s boyfriend, according to ABC News affiliate WCVB-TV in Boston.

“At that point he said, “that’s great, you’ll be able to get yourself clean and get Bella back”, recalled Mr Deakin. It did not provide specific details. One of the children was later adopted by her maternal grandmother; the other was adopted by someone outside the family, DCF officials said. The friend said McCarthy and Bond told him Bella was possessed by demons, Deakin said. “She wouldn’t hit her in front of me, but she would yell and Bella already had a problem, difficulty in talking in sentences”, she said.

Authorities found the tiny remains on June 25 wrapped in a black trash bag.

Police released photos of the blanket and leggings.

Amoroso is the biological father of the girl who became known as “Baby Doe”.

“Somewhere in my heart I’m gonna have to find forgiveness and that time will come”, he said. “It was her time to die”.
