Leonte Carroo, 21, of Edison and a former Don Bosco player, was in Family Court on Wednesday, because the 20-year-old woman he is accused of assaulting is seeking a final restraining order, but that hearing was adjourned until October 6 because the young woman wanted to return with an attorney.

But Fetky said the police railroaded the four and claimed that Maria Vega – who is Carroo’s girlfriend – was the victim in the fight with the 20-year-old woman, who is not being identified since her alleged attacker was charged with domestic violence.

The alleged victim in that incident worked for Rutgers football as a recruiting ambassador. Carroo’s girlfriend, Maria Vega of Fort Lee, is wearing white trousers in the video.

“I know Shane. I know the difference in size”.

“Everything indicates that she is the only one who should be charged in this”, Fetky said.

“All he did, was sweep in and pull Maria from the crowd and usher her away, ” Fetky said of Carroo.

Fetky is representing Carroo in a court hearing involving a temporary restraining order. She has said she temporarily blacked out as she was slammed to the ground and remembers being attacked by a woman with a traffic cone.

It’s not known if they have lawyers who can comment on the charges. He is free on $1,000 bail.

The woman sustained injuries to her hip, hands, elbow and head.
