When the staff at Children’s Hospital were notified of the Amber Alert they realized the boy was at the hospital and called Boston Police. A spokesman for Children’s declined to comment. Police say he was suffering from severe dehydration, and his mother fled with him Friday afternoon. Qavai is receiving emergency medical treatment at a Boston hospital.

Cherry was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and recklessly endangering another person. She also faces outstanding Massachusetts arrest warrants for prostitution and motor vehicle violations as well.
The infant remained hospitalized Saturday morning. Her son is in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
McGuire said Cherry gave police a Waltham address, but James Cherry, Tiffany Cherry’s brother, said she lives in Pennsylvania. Instead, Cherry fled the state and headed for the Boston area.
Boston Police say that Tiffany Cherry and Quavai Cherry were located at Boston Children’s Hospital. She waiting as doctors in the hospital’s emergency room treated Qavai Cherry.

“Anybody who knows Tiffany knows she takes care of her kids, that’s all she cares about”, he said.
