Will you be grabbing yourself a Moto 360, or instead wait for the next-in-line? This appears to be a permanent price cut based on the price tag information on Motorola’s landing page. Additionally, a souped up version can also be bought from Moto Maker for a premium.

The $149.99 price is also matched by Amazon and Google’s Store. Although there’s no official word from the company, price drops like this do suggest that the item in question might be replaced with a much more interesting new gadget: the Moto 360 2015. Rumors indicate that the next-gen variant, apparently codenamed “Smelt”, may offer a higher-res display. This means that all of the changes that come with Android 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.0.2 and 5.1 Lollipop update are all included in this update.

Google Developer Advocate Wayne Piekarski said that the latest Android Wear version will roll out via an OTA (over-the-air) update via his Google+ account. Media browsing allows users to browse songs directly on the smartwatch while emoji input brings up the appropriate emoji after users draw it on the watch’s face.

While the competition is trying to catch up, Motorola’s Moto 360 remains one of the best-looking Android Wear devices on the market despite being around for over nine months. Finally, gesture support allows browsing apps and contacts by swiping left or right.
