Moto X Play Reportedly Coming to the US as Droid Maxx 2

However, according to latest reports, Moto X Play is coming to the U.S. ultimately. It is believed that Verizon may change or add a few specs on the DROID Maxx 2 to follow its own taste.

Based on these images the DROID MAXX 2 actually looks pretty similar to the Moto X Play.

The price of the Droid Turbo 2 will of course be higher than for the Droid Maxx 2, with sources putting it at around $600.

The original Motorola Droid Maxx stirred lots of interest mainly due to its large battery capacity, as it packed a notable 3,500 mAh cell.

As a reminder, the Moto X Play sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, translating to a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood, the handset packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC comprising of an octa-core 1.7GHz CPU and Adreno 405 graphics, paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes with P2i nanocoating that helps protect it against accidental liquid spills and light drizzle.

Furthermore, the mobile carrier Verizon is getting ready to release the Motorola DROID Turbo 2.

According to HelloMotoHK, along with a number of other news outlets who have since jumped on the news, the Moto X Play will be branded as the DROID MAXX 2 here in the US. Not too long ago Motorola posted a tweet to their Twitter account with a video that showed off someone utilizing the watches voice activated features, and in it there was an image of what appeared to be the new Moto 360 sporting a slightly updated design with the band connected to the watch case by lugs instead of being tucked into the back of the case. Nearly a year after its launch, rumors about the device’s successor have surfaced online.
