Moto Z Play Gets Baptized on GFXBench Finally

Motorola Moto Z Play shows up on GFXBench with an impressive all round configuration, although we would have been more pleased to see a more powerful chipset such a Snapdragon 652 or a Snapdragon 650 at the very least.

The poster (via AndroidHits) is shown outside a shop and seems to be advertising pre-orders for the Moto Z Play, suggesting the phone could launch soon. There are two camera details stated at the “Back camera” category, indicating that the Moto Z Play edition could come with a dual camera. Keeping the device powered will be Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 graphics, along with 3 GB of RAM. The Z Play was the star in the news quite a few times until now; some may even think I am obsessed by it, but truth be told, I am a big fan of Moto Droids and the Z Play sounds pretty interesting. According to the GFXBench listing, the Moto Z Play features a 5.5-inch full HD display.

The Moto Z Force is expected to get a 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a pixel density of 535ppi.

While there’s no official word about the Moto Z Play from the company, we can expect Lenovo to unveil the smartphone at the upcoming IFA 2016.

It offers 16 GB of internal storage data which can be expandable up to 256GB via micro-SD Card.

We should also point out that the Moto Z Play will nearly certainly have a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Rear camera capacity is 16MP, and a 5MP unit can be found on the front. But since neither the Moto Z or Moto Z Force include this staple, it’s a bit of a surprise to see it return, so to speak.

Moto Z Play will also feature NFC support, pedometer, proximity sensors, compass, and more.

Another detail which was leaked out thanks to the benchmark result was the Android 6.0.1.
