According to Business Insider, Krüger was helped up by two assistants and another man helped to escort him off the stage.

Krueger took over as BMW CEO in May from Norbert Reithofer.

A spokesman added that the 49-year-old had been lately travelling so much, and was not feeling properly forward of the presentation however determined to go forward with it.

Later, a BMW spokesperson stated that the company will try to redo the press conference at a later stage.

Krueger was making his first appearance at the biennial trade event as BMW’s chief.

“His condition is not worrisome, they’ve ruled out anything serious”, BMW Spokesman Maximilian Schoeberl told USA Today.

Reporters were then offered a roundtable discussion with the company’s chief financial officer, who did not fall.

So far, nobody has tried to link this incident to the busy schedule of the CEO.

Volkswagen’s super-luxury brand Bugatti presented its virtual-concept vehicle Vision Gran Turismo, inspired by the Sony PlayStation game “Gran Turismo”.

The reason for his fall was not immediately clear.
