Motorbike caught fire during refueling in a race

A biker and his team had to suffer with heavy flames when it caught fire during refueling.

According to the report, Grant Wagstaff, from Bedford, stopped to have his bike refueled during the race but petrol was spilt onto the piping hot engine and exhaust, causing flames to blow up into the faces of Mr. Wagstaff, 45, and his mechanical team.

However, they narrowly escaped any serious injuries but one of member of mechanical team had to stay in hospital overnight because he suffered from heavy burns on his hand and his face.

The race this year was certainly not without incident – rider Gary Johnson was involved a spectacular 120mph crash on Tuesday, in which he broke his collar bone and right shoulder.
