Motorcyclist Burned in East Cobb Gas Station Fire

The fire was reported at about 8 a.m.at the Chevron gas station on Shallowford and Trickum roads. One of those bystanders received burns to his hands and he’s been transported to Cobb Hospital for treatment of his burns.

His injuries would have likely been worse if not for a good Samaritan who was captured on video dashing to the rescue as the motorcycle went up in flames. “He’s very fortunate to survive it”, Dupree told the News source.

“Luckily, it didn’t spread as much as it could have”.

He then returned, sat on the motorcycle and began filling the tank with gas, not noticing that it was overflowing, Dupree said.

Owner of the petrol station Asif Nansi told WSBTV: “There was a guy at the other pump and he just came, taking off his jacket. But, in my opinion, those two saved his life today”, said Cobb County Battalion Chief David Blount.

Firefighters are still investigating exactly what started the fire, but remind everyone to never leave your vehicle running, and don’t take your eye off the gas nozzle.
