Mourinho blames ‘ridiculous mistakes’ for defeat to Porto
Chelsea‘s manager, José Mourinho, said that he considers the way in which his team lost to Porto in the Champions League match on Tuesday, as simply “ridiculous”. Willian equalised for Chelsea but former Blues defender Maicon scored the victor from a corner. We were punished. Two ridiculous mistakes and we were punished for them.

Nevertheless, Costa felt Chelsea did enough to win at Porto, only to concede a “ridiculous” victor from a corner.
With captain John Terry having a limited first-team role so far this season, and due to the recent departures of Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, Ferdinand believes that Chelsea have no leaders in the dressing room.
Reigning Premier League Player of the Year, Eden Hazard was also among the substitutes as Mourinho was haunted by his former club in Portugal.
“Diego hit the bar, Ivanovic had a chance with an open goal and in the last minute it was a clear penalty (a handball from a Diego Costa strike),”he said”.
Chelsea’s players refused to talk to the media after last night’s defeat, which has raised questions over whether their manager still has the support of the dressing room, but Mourinho said: “I have no problems with anyone and have a fantastic relationship with everyone”.
But now it could be starting to crumble, and the poacher turned gamekeeper got a taste of his old medicine on his return to Estadio do Dragao as Chelsea’s miserable start to the season continued with a 2-1 defeat in the Champions League.
He is no closer to finding the answers to Chelsea’s poor form.
“When you play a disaster it’s easier to make drastic decisions”.
“The two mistakes [from corners] were hard to accept. The basic thing in football to work at is a defensive set-play”.
“We had a few bad luck and as a team you need more fortune. The big mistakes we made twice doesn’t mean that the team defended badly”. “We are all very happy, we played a great match and now we have to savour this victory”.
Chelsea are third in Group G, a point behind Porto and Dynamo Kiev.
Porto’s first-half scorer Andre hailed a memorable performance by his side.
