City on Saturday maintained their 100 per cent start to the season and life under Guardiola with a 2-1 derby victory at Manchester United.

With Sergio Aguero suspended, Guardiola said he had other options – but opted for Iheanacho to show his players what he wanted.

“Of course we’re happy but we have to improve”, he told a pre-match news conference.

While an almighty argument between United’s players didn’t affect the scoreline in the second half, they looked a completely different side after the break.

“For me, the next big game is against Feyenoord”, said Mourinho. The Red Devils sacked their former manager Louis van Gaal just days after he guided them to the FA Cup triumph and replaced him with the Portuguese tactician. Claudio is going to make mistakes in the future, I’ll tell you now – he won’t save all the goals. “But I did not get it”, Mourinho was quoted as saying by The Guardian.

He said: “I’m clearly disappointed with the the first-half”.

“Last season we struggled a lot to beat them, both at home and away, so I have no reason to think it’s going to be easy this time”, the Spaniard added.

“After the first 15 minutes of the second half we came back stronger and had to change our style a bit because they had a few chances”.

“I felt City had the fragility on the sides and the kid could give us in the second half on the sides what we didn’t get with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Jesse Lingard in the first half”.

“Back-passes, first-station passes, from Bailly to (Marouane) Fellaini, from Blind to (Paul) Pogba”. “We’re trying to play good, positive football and we’ve won five out of five [including the two-legged Champions League play-off win over Steaua Bucharest], so hopefully we can continue to do the same”.
