Mourinho hails incredible Zlatan Ibrahimovic
With Captain Rooney, Martial and Ibrahimovic all starting, it seemed like United would have enough fire-power to overcome a side that had not improved their defensive side by much from last season where they had conceded sixty seven goals.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s pair of goals helped make Paul Pogba‘s return to Manchester United a successful one as the club defeated Southampton 2-0 on Friday night.
Two Zlatan Ibrahimovic goals sent the club three points clear at the top of the Premier League, and Jose Mourinho told the club’s official website that he was delighted with the French midfielder’s contributions during the game.
“We have a good team that wants to win the league again because it’s been three years”.
Mourinho said: “I think everything starts there, the relationship between the team and the fans.
My instinct is to try to win the ball back for the team as quickly as possible”.
“(We have here) A great spirit, everybody working really hard and I’m pleased”.
“‘Play!’ No no. We have to build a certain organisation around him, but he has to play free, but for a player to play with the freedom, we have to build a certain organisation around him”.
“I think the biggest compliment I can give him is that I was watching that game and watching Paul Pogba and I wasn’t thinking of £89 million”.
Pogba was suspended for United’s first game of the season, a 3-1 victory away at Bournemouth on Sunday, but is expected to make his debut against Southampton as United seeks to continue its flawless start to the season. We had a good result so I’m happy.
“There were lots of things that were positive for the future”.
United beat Bournemouth 3-1 in its opening game.
“There are obvious things he has to improve”. He registered United’s first shot on target and then found Juan Mata with a clever, chipped pass, the Spaniard flicking the ball on for Ibrahimovic to volley acrobatically wide.
Manchester United’s Paul Pogba warms up before the match.
Ibrahimovic put United ahead in the 36th minute with an imperious header from Wayne Rooney’s right-wing cross and added a second goal with a penalty early in the second half.

Pogba had the first real chance of the game in the 13th minute with a curling snap shot from the edge of the area, but it was an easy height for Fraser Forster and the goalkeeper made the stop. Their nature of dominance was such that Southampton, who had created several chances in the first half, were completely shut out in the second.
