Mourinho In Talks With United: Should Van Gaal Be Sacked?

LOUIS VAN GAAL will help to serve up Christmas dinner to his Manchester United players on Monday as planned, despite intense speculation he could soon be replaced as manager by Jose Mourinho.

He was booed as he walked down the tunnel on Saturday following Manchester United’s home defeat to Norwich City and his side have now been pushed out of fourth spot by Tottenham Hotspur.

The self-proclaimed Special One was axed by Chelsea after their dismal start to the campaign, after overseeing nine defeats in their opening 16 Premier League outings, leaving them just a point above the bottom three.

Getting someone like Mourinho would be a huge coup for any club.

Manchester United players arrived for training this morning with uncertainty hanging over manager Louis van Gaal.

A poll on respected fans website Red Issue showed United supporters are overwhelmingly in favour of the 64-year-old being sacked IMMEDIATELY.

“Yes, of course I am anxious about my job”, Van Gaal told a post-match press conference.

“The most important support is from the players because the players have to do it on the pitch and the chemistry between the players and the manager and his staff is very important”.

With José Mourinho on the market and looking for a job, United may need to act fast if they want to secure the services of the Portuguese manager.

United playmaker Juan Mata, meanwhile, insists he and his team-mates can arrest their slump over the next week when they face Stoke and Chelsea. They thought I would bring us to the top.

“I think they have always been that sort of team that does dominate going forward and once they go one or two goals up, they come off the play, they keep the ball and make you exhausted and then they might get a third”. We need to stick together, there’s nothing else you can do.

The Spaniard wrote on his blog: “No matter how tough the situation can be, I’m not even thinking about giving up”.
