Mourinho Looking To Memphis Depay To Star For United

Rumours this summer have suggested that Memphis is not part of Mourinho’s plans and the coach left him out of his squad for the community shield win over Leicester City last weekend.

Depay, after many saw him as a transformative signing for Manchester United following a £25million transfer from PSV, struggled to find form under former boss Louis van Gaal.

Mourinho is quoted as saying by United’s website: “Last season is something I don’t want to go into too much where Memphis is concerned; all I know is the player that I watched in the 2014 World Cup and the player I watched many times at PSV [Eindhoven]”. “So far, I have seen a good and professional boy”.

Jose Mourinho is keeping faith with Memphis Depay and has earmarked the winger to be a success at the club.

“September will be the moment when everyone is playing and life changes for them, but I believe in him, yes”.

Depay has attracted headlines for his off-field image, including turning up to training in a luxury super vehicle.

“Fresh for the new season, want to start well, I think it’s important”, he said. You can see him driving a nice vehicle and you might think that this guy’s not thinking about football, but that is not the case. “He is frustrated with what happened last season when he lost all his confidence but he will be back”. “But he will be back”.

“But in September we have Capital One Cup, Europa League and Premier League so that month will be the end of the frustration for these players that are not selected in these first two or three matches”.

Fellaini was linked with leaving Manchester United when Mourinho arrived and of late a switch to link up with David Moyes at Sunderland has been mooted.
