The International Champions Cup match between Premier League rivals Manchester United and Manchester City has been canceled after recent extreme weather made the playing surface at Beijing’s National Stadium unfit for play.

The collective “we” are not just the Man City, Man United clubs and the tournament organizer but also the China Football Association, Beijing Football Association and the venue’s management.

Manchester United have reportedly joined arch-rivals Manchester City in the hunt to sign Italy global star Leonardo Bonucci this summer, according to the Mirror.

“Jose loves having a great relationship with his players and staff, and thinks it’s great for them to chill and relax away from training and games”, a source told The Daily Star.

“Of course [the tour brings us closer together], with a new manager and with new players”, he said.

Two English giants were supposed to play International Champions Cup pre-season match in China’s capital Beijing.

Bastian Schweinsteiger is clearly determined to prove himself to new Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho as he prepares for a return to pre-season training. “I am sure we will return to the Bird’s Nest in the future”.

The teams will meet next at Old Trafford on September 10.

United fan Hu Mu Lin said: ‘I am angry because I had a ticket and now they can’t play the match.

“We’re lost somewhere. We had to make a quick landing”. The players eventually made it to the team hotel in Beijing at 1am.
