Mourinho ready for opener, coy on Costa

The champions begin their defence of the title with a home game against Swansea City on Saturday and their first away game is against Manchester City, last season’s runners-up, on Sunday week.

But the Blues boss believes the spending power of the top flight – due in part to next year’s bumper TV deal – will make this season’s title race one of the fiercest in recent campaigns.

PREMIER LEAGUE EXECUTIVE chairman Richard Scudamore has told Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger to ignoring each other if there is no respect between the pair. Loic Remy was chosen to start against the Gunners but he was largely ineffective so I wouldn’t be surprised if Radamel Falcao came in this weekend.

Christian Benteke bolsters Liverpool’s attack after a $50.7-million switch from Aston Villa.

To break down the upcoming season and some of its story lines, we enlisted the help of EPL legend and current New York City Football Club midfielder Frank Lampard. But the problems are not thought to be serious and all three are expected to return to training ahead of Monday’s opener at West Brom.

“I look at Morgan Schneiderlin, to be honest, and think if I were an Arsenal fan, I would have liked him to have come to the club”.

“We have the real football on Saturday and today we couldn’t face this game in another way”, the 52-year-old was quoted as saying on Chelsea’s website (www.chelseafc.com).

But with two of last season’s promoted clubs, Burnley and Queens Park Rangers, relegated after just one season, the Championship champions and runners-up have so far signed 19 players between them.

“Chelsea won it by a margin last year so they are the favourites”, he said. “I have no doubts that they will rekindle their love for him“.

“I always had good relations with the fourth official I had a new experience in my career, which is always welcome, because I was pushed in the technical area by another manager and it was a good experience for me to keep my emotional control”.

Mourinho says he is thinking of getting the best out of his existing players, rather than adding to his Chelsea squad.

“We’re in England so it’s quite fair that people are trying to get solutions for more local players”. At the end of the day we arrive into a conclusion that players pick themselves.
