Mourinho refuses to rule out Madrid reunion

Costa’s frustrations were laid bare at Tottenham nearly a fortnight ago when he threw his substitutes bib at manager Jose Mourinho, after warming up in the second half but not taking to the field.

Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has ruled out a return for former striker Diego Costa.

“Look at how well Filipe Luis is doing”.

“I always wish Atletico the best and I always follow them, support them from afar”.

Mourinho himself has been the subject of intense scrutiny, with Chelsea languishing a lowly 14th in the Premier League table, just two points above the relegation zone.

Performances over the festive period games will determine the nature of their approach to next month’s transfer market, when value for money is notoriously hard to find. It is not an easy sequence for a side with damaged confidence.

Mourinho will hope to extend the positive vibe, and his improved defensive record.

Unsurprisingly, a few stories have linked Mourinho with a return to the Bernabeu.

“I just need more games to play and then I’ll be fine”.

‘It’s hard when you lose.

“I know there is interest from Chelsea and there have been some talks, but at the moment nothing is concrete”, Teixeira said.

Meanwhile, Oscar told reporters on Wednesday night that Costa still has the backing of his teammates, “Diego knows he is important for the team”.

“It would be better not to meet Atletico now, they’re a very uncomfortable team to play”.
