Mourinho to drop ‘derby flops’ against Feyenoord

The United manager looked on helplessly as City took a 2-0 lead at Old Trafford through Kevin De Bruyne and Kelechi Iheanacho, before Zlatan Ibrahimovic halved the deficit before the break.

“I am very disappointed with two decisions from Mark [Clattenburg], because it’s a penalty and a red card for Bravo”, Mourinho said.

The bragging rights went the way of City after a pulsating 2-1 win at Old Trafford on Saturday lunchtime in the first derby of the season. In the future I beat him, he beats me.

“Obviously everybody has his own style and you need to adapt to it, but I think everyone is working really hard – even the guys coming in, they do it perfectly”. [Rashford can play as a] wide man or we play with both [him and Ibrahimovic up front], which we can do perfectly like we did against Hull City.

Guardiola said: “We have played, not all of the games, but part of most of the games at a high level, and of course we have to continue”.

“Hopefully next time we play against United, people start to forget”.

Mourinho told reporters: “The first half was their half and they got what they deserved”.

“That is after a couple of months of Guardiola’s guidance so imagine how good they are will be in six months”. How many big matches has he played? Sometimes players disappoint managers.

United couldn’t cap an improved second-half display with an equalizer, leaving Mourinho with just one win over Guardiola in his last 10 attempts, and only three in a total of 17 games against Guardiola’s teams. And it was this: I told 20 times today never play the first station ball, never, never play because it’s where they want to press. I am just trying to build on it. It’s my fault because I’m the manager and it’s always my fault because it’s my choice.

“I think some of the boys felt the dimension of the game”.

“They didn’t give me what I wanted, therefore it’s my fault”.

Later in the second half, City’s Argentine defender had spun away from an Antonio Valencia cross while he was in City’s penalty area – the ball hitting his trailing elbow.
