Governors in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Indiana and Florida have ordered National Guardsmen to be armed, and Florida Gov. Rick Scott relocated recruiters to armories.
FILE – In this July 17, 2015 file photo, an FBI investigator investigates the scene of a shooting outside a military recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tenn. He would not go into further detail Monday to “protect operational security”. According to a family representative, Abdulazeez’s parents told agents that along with being on prescription medication, their son abused alcohol and marijuana. He was seen dribbling a soccer ball in his yard.
“Everything seemed fine. He was normal”.
However, a friend told CNN that Abdulazeez thought extremists like the Islamic State group were “doing wrong” and “it was a stupid group and it was completely against Islam”. He even described himself as an “Arab redneck”, a person close to the family said on the condition of anonymity out of concern it would have business repercussions.
‘It’s hard to understand how somebody can hurt somebody that’s serving for you, for your freedom, for your safety, ‘ his step-grandmother Darlene Proxmire told WANE television in Indiana.
The convertible sports vehicle Abdulazeez used to carry out his deadly rampage was only recently rented and a point of pride for the young man, the family told the FBI.
In a statement to the media, a representative for Adbulazeez’s family said the Kuwait-born 24-year-old was sent on the trip previous year to visit family in Jordan in an effort to help him cope with crushing debt and suicidal thoughts, alongside drug and alcohol abuse.
A senior federal law enforcement official said Monday that though investigators are continuing to dig into Abdulazeez’s background, they have not found any evidence suggesting that he was “specifically tasked” by anyone to shoot up the military site. She later agreed to reconcile.
The family’s explanation fits a pattern of behavior by Abdulazeez that includes a drunken driving arrest earlier this year and the loss of a job over a failed drug test.
Just before the shooting, Abdulazeez was struggling with a job at a manufacturing plant with 12-hour overnight shifts, and was taking sleeping pills so he could fall asleep during the day.
Abdulazeez had drugs troubles and had to concerned about bills as per his loved ones as well as a record he disadvantaged, Mastening numbers News advised on Monday, referring people consultant.
