Moussa Sissoko: Leaving Newcastle United for Everton was never on the agenda
Tottenham completed one of the biggest deals of transfer deadline day when they signed Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko for £30m.

Sissoko had been preparing for France’s friendly in Italy on Thursday.
There was some consolation for Everton as they signed West Ham’s Enner Valencia on a season-long loan deal.
The Frenchman, however, has agreed a transfer to Tottenham and is now travelling to England to undergo medical with the North London club ahead of signing a contract with the Spurs.
‘I think he’s the kind of player that can help the team to achieve good things and, for sure, he will adapt quickly to our philosophy and our style.
“It is true that Wednesday was rather quick, and it happened in the last hours, but the bottom line is this is done, I have finalised my transfer to Tottenham”.
Spurs have Champions League football to also consider this season, and so perhaps from that standpoint, it could be questioned as to whether or not they’ve brought in players who can make an immediate and significant impact both at home and overseas this year. I have played at a World Cup and a Euro. There are discussions to be had and I just hope to find the best club for me, where I can develop myself as much as possible.
“Very happy to join Spurs for the next five years”, the midfielder wrote on his official Twitter account.
Sissoko joins up with France captain Hugo Lloris at White Hart Lane. “I like to run forward, I like power and I have a lot of energy which I can bring to the team”. “Now we have a squad where every player who is here wants to work together to fight for the club”. When he feels fully adapted you will see his real personality.

“Sissoko is a great player”, Moshiri said in a widely reported statement.
