Ms. Australia: PH’s Miss Universe win flashed on screen
The Miss Universe pageant was marred by a horrendous mix-up which saw host Steve Harvey announce the wrong victor before then handing the prize to Wurtzbach.

The actual victor, Miss Philippines – 26-year-old Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach – might have felt the confusion most of all.
It could have been two Miss Universe titles in a row for Colombia but soon after Guiterrez took her first walk as the victor, the host admitted to have made a mistake in announcing the winners.
Miss Universe 2015: “Miss Colombia Crowned by Mistake — Miss Philippines is the victor.
Former Miss California Toay Foster Ortiz said either Harvey made an honest mistake or the whole thing was part of a larger plan.
Still can’t get over the insane blooper at yesterday’s Miss Universe 2015 pageant night and the fantastic win of Pia Wurtzbach? He later apologized onstage for his mistake and declared Miss Philippines as the true victor. “But as Miss Columbia was very conservative and also respectful, I would have done as she did”, Miss Santa Barbara County Arianna Lemus said.
“Adriana Gutierrez was Miss Universe for four and a half minutes”, Colombia’s Caracol news network headlined a story about the bungle on the front page of its website.
Riek did say that they were happy for Wurtzbach and wished her a wonderful reign. “Thank you all, thank you for voting for me”. Harvey immediately owned up to his mistake and said that he had misread the card with the official results.
Furthermore, following the announcement, some of the other contestants, including Miss Germany, could be seen comforting Miss Colombia and not congratulating Miss Philippines.
The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported that 1969 Miss Universe victor Gloria Diaz called for Harvey to be fined US$100,000 for the error.
