MTV launches MTV Classic channel focusing on 1990s nostalgia
In what’s quite possibly the best nostalgic news we’ve heard this year so far, MTV is set to introduce a “classic” TV channel dedicated to all of our favourite shows from the 90s and early 2000s.

(Radio.com) VH1 Classic will switch to MTV Classic on August 1st.
Your favorite MTV shows from the past are coming back. The original MTV launched in 1981, but the new service will focus on content from the early 1990s.
MTV Classic is launching August 1 with a one-hour block of the first content to ever air on MTV. The debut hour will replicate the first hour of programming in MTV’s history, which will also be streamed via Facebook Live on their page.
In honor of this anniversary, the network actually has something very special planned for the very first hour of MTV Classic programming.
“From Beavis & Butt-head to Laguna Beach, MTV’s programming vault is a music and pop culture goldmine with universal resonance”, said MTV president Sean Atkins in a statement as reported by a website.

In addition to full-season marathons of “The Real World”, “Road Rules” and “Laguna Beach”, MTV says the channel will feature prime-time programming blocks that include episodes of “Cribs”, “Jackass”, “Punk’d” and others.
