While the 29-year-old rapper didn’t exactly profess his love for the “Diamonds” singer, he did offer his congratulations for the Video Vanguard Award Rihanna will be receiving at MTV’s Video Music Awards on Sunday.
The red carpet starts at 6:15pm EDT, a pre-show hosted by DJ Khaled beginning at 8pm, and the main show starting at 9pm.
That incident kicked off a years-long feud that is still going on strong seven years later, most recently involving West’s single “Famous”, in which namedrops Swift.
The pop princess will give the first performance of her single Make Me, from her new album Glory, at the glitzy event in NY tonight. The controversial performance of I’m A Slave 4 U included live exotic big cats and, most memorably, a large albino Burmese python draped around Britney’s neck.
Next is Rihanna – who we should expect to see on our television screens quite a bit Sunday.
The show looks to be a star studded event with the line-up of performances that has been announced including Britney Spears, Future, Ariana Grande with Nicki Minaj, Nick Jonas with Ty Dolla $ign and the Chainsmokers with Halsey.
As for victor predictions, several reports suggest that Beyoncé is likely to take home the iconic Moonman statue. However, Beyoncé leads the nominations overall, with a grand total of eleven, including video of the year for “Formation”. Adele could also bag the “Video of the Year” and other categories.
First is Kanye West.
Fans should also be on the lookout for the fresh faces of music which include Bryson Tiller, Lukas Graham and Zara Larsson.

Coldplay, Desiigner, Fergie and Alessia Cara earned multiple nominations, while David Bowie who died from cancer earlier this year is nominated for best direction, cinematography, art direction and editing for “Lazarus”.
