Even though the app is unavailable in most regions now, users in India as well as other countries have taken to “side-loading” the game on Android as well as Apple iPhones.

If you want to download Pokemon GO for Android and it’s not available in your country, a copy can be downloaded from the APK Mirror here. But in-app purchases can be lucrative, and Pokemon Go is getting Nintendo’s name out there again. In order to have a meaningful impact on Nintendo’s profits, Pokemon GO needs to hit a minimum of $140 to $196 million turnover per month, claims Mia Nagasaka, an equity analyst with Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities. Released July 5, the game allows players to “catch” characters that appear to be in the real world using Global Positioning System and the smartphone camera.

Pokemon Go uses the Real World Gaming Platform developed by Niantic Labs, which is also behind games such as Field Trip and Ingress.

And the game will eventually get a best feature which allows players to trade the collected Pokemons with friends and strangers.

Nintendo shares appreciated 24.5% on the Tokyo exchange today, and are up more than 30% including Friday, following the release of the free-to-play app in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand.

Niantic CEO John Hanke has guaranteed players that they are working double time to resolve all the game’s issues.

In Wyoming, the app led one user to a dead body. “Apparently they were using the app to locate [people] standing around in the middle of a parking lot or whatever other location they were in”.

So we’re just going to have to wait and see what else the “Pokemon Go” developers have in store for us.

There are reports that people playing the game while driving have caused traffic problems. As users navigate the real world, their in-game character mirrors their movements and will randomly encounter Pokemon characters which, with luck, they’ll be able to capture and add to their team.
