With all this interest in Harry Potter emerging again, despite the fact that this isn’t a traditional addition to the stories of the wizarding world, can we expect the story of Hogwarts most famous student to continue?

The author, philanthropist and Queen of Twitter revealed that her 13-year-old son David bought her a very special mug as she celebrated her 51st birthday after the launch of her new Harry Potter play, The Cursed Child.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was released on Potter and Rowling’s birthday, July 31.

The Steimatzky store at the Dizengoff Center mall was decked out in golden balloons, matching the color of the book’s jacket, and customers waiting outside wore a variety of Harry Potter paraphernalia, from t-shirts with quotes from the book and team jerseys of the magical sport Quidditch, to pointy witches’ hats and scarlet and yellow scarves for Gryffindor, Harry’s house at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Children and adults, some dressed as characters from the popular JK Rowling Books, were eagerly anticipating the release of the West End play script, which catches up with Harry 19 years after the events of the Deathly Hallows book.

It was co-devised by Rowling, written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany.

While it’s easy to spill the story’s secrets with the official release of the book and play, Rowling implored her fans to “keep the secrets” via a video message and a social media hashtag – a bid to prevent spoilers.
