Muhammad Ali: Lennox Lewis and Will Smith to carry coffin at funeral
After retiring from boxing, Ali announced in 1984 that he suffered from Parkinson’s disease, a degenerative neurological condition. But how can teachers commemorate the man?

He famously said he could “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”. / His hand can’t hit what his eyes can’t see. When asked about the government’s decision to prosecute him as a draft dodger, he said: “They did what they thought was right, and I did what I thought was right”.

“As a black man who won the heavyweight title and who was humorous and who treated everyone right”. He was a wise and purposeful man who rose to the pinnacle of a sport that brought him fame and wealth.
Laila Ali, who followed her father into professional boxing, remembered her dad as a “fighter inside and out of the ring” who spoke for people who “couldn’t speak up for themselves”. “And you want me to go somewhere and fight, but you won’t even stand up for me here at home”.
